The NCCG relies on the generosity of our donors whose ongoing support allows us to develop and deliver services independently and with a focus on quality and compassion
Our programs are funded by individual and corporate donations. We have calculated that it costs around $4,000 per year to support a grieving child. Very few families who attend the Centre are in a financial position to pay this amount. All donations and sponsorships are appreciated. Donations $2 and over are tax deductible.

There are two levels of volunteers as detailed below. Unfortunately, we do not provide ‘placements’ for students training in other organisations. All volunteers must have “working with children” certification.
LEVEL ONE VOLUNTEERS
These volunteers take the role of Support Workers in our children’s support groups. They must complete the following three day courses; ‘Core Course In Bereavement Counselling’ and ‘Working With Bereaved Children’. Please note, the Support Worker’s Course is by invitation only and by completing the course requisites mentioned above does not guarantee a placement. For more information please email firstname.lastname@example.org or speak with our Clinical Director, Dr Elizabeth Mann, when undertaking a course.
LEVEL TWO VOLUNTEERS
To keep ‘A Friend’s Place’ warm and inviting for our children and their families, volunteers can also be involved with work behind the scenes, such as gardening, maintenance tasks, craft preparation, cleaning and organising of our craft centre. We also welcome opportunities for Staff Engagement with organisations. For more information call 1300 654 556 or email us.
