If you prefer to donate goods or arrange a shopping gift drive with your community, we currently need donations of the following items to support our children’s counselling services. The centre uses a broad range of therapy activities and approaches to engage children and explore complex subjects, inspired by the children’s interests. There are many different types of items for you to choose from, which would help us care for many bereaved children.

Counselling session resources

• Musical instruments: bells, shakers, small handheld instruments
• Sand tray – play therapy: toys, figures and especially full starter kits – see range available at playtherapysupply.com and sandtopia.com.au
• Gardening equipment: flowering native and exotic plant seedlings for our back garden; succulent plants, other flowering plant seedlings (eg ‘pot of colour, ‘Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow’, Tibouchina ‘Alstonville’), small terracotta pots
• Cooking equipment and pantry goods: baking goods – biscuit, cake and muffin kits, quality non-stick fry pan
• Fairies: fairy ornaments and items for the centre’s outdoor Fairy Garden
• Sporting equipment – table tennis bats and balls, nerf basketball set, soccer balls, tennis balls
• Paper Journals – A5-sized, 50-200 pages, blank pages (no lines), plain or decorated covers
• Visual Art Diaries/Scrapbooks – plain, small and large format
• Electric tea light candles
• indoor golf putters
• Gift cards: purchasing resources as we need them – Bunnings, Coles, Woolworths, Spotlight, Riot Art & Craft

Craft materials

We use a lot of materials every day in art-based therapy activities with children of various ages. We currently need supplies of:

• Art canvases: 8-inch square flat, deep set; others with dimensions 1.2 inch (D) x 8 inch (W) x 10 inch (L)
• Timber craft projects: photo frames, small boxes, chests, door hangers for decorating. Check out the options at cleverpatch.com.au (Wooden tool boxes / tool shapes / pen holders / car remote control holders / 3D wooden planes / wooden jigsaws); Kmart and craft stores: MDF signs, keepsake boxes, Shamrock craft paper mache mini heart box, square box;
• Mosaic project resources – eg Crafters Choice brand mosaic resources: assorted shapes, acrylic gems, rhinestones, wooden and rhinestone alphabets
• Canvas art kits eg blank canvas pencil cases
• Sheets of small stickers (1-5cm tall) – hearts, animals, butterflies, jewels and the letters of the alphabet (in CAPS and lower case), ‘boys’ themed sticker sets, emergency vehicles, tools etc
• Small and medium-sized jam jars
• Fabric markers
• Porcelain cup and plate decorating kits (paints included)
• Double-sided foam tape
• Wide ribbon in various colours
• Glue sticks (eg Bostik Blu Sticks 35g)
• Slime making kits
