The NCCG offers a variety of courses in Bereavement counselling, including a three day option, a post graduate diploma and support workers training.

These are highly recommended for all health professionals, social workers, school counsellors, psychologists, counsellors, chaplains, teachers, pastoral care workers, or anyone who works with or supports dying or bereaved adults and children.

It is essential that everyone attends the Core Course before participating in further course work. It should be noted the courses are not recommended for people who are recently bereaved themselves (within the previous 12 months), as they are teaching workshops rather than therapy groups.

The diploma course is only offered to suitably qualified, experienced counsellors who wish to specialise in bereavement counselling. Places are limited and can only be offered when there are training positions available.

Our “support workers” training may be offered to suitable candidates after they have completed both the Core Course, and the Working with Bereaved Children Course, when training positions are available.

We also offer the possibility of tailored courses and/or workshops for your organisation to run at your premises. If you are interested in enquiring about this possibility, please email
