The Bereavement C.A.R.E Centre (BCC) founded by Dianne McKissock OAM and Mal McKissock OAM in 1981 is no longer operational and as such you have been redirected to the National Centre for Childhood Grief (NCCG) website. The NCCG was established by the McKissock’s in 1994 as a charitable organisation to address the needs of bereaved children and young people aged 3 to 18 years. In 2015, the McKissock’s retired. It was at this time the BCC transitioned across all its programs to be facilitated by the NCCG, under the new Clinical Director, Dr Elizabeth Mann.
Since the McKissock’s retirement in 2015, they have continued as Patrons for the NCCG, providing clinical consultation as required. Both remain involved in varying capacities and are active in the community. Mal continues to facilitate the kid’s parent group and co-facilitates the professional development education programs. While Di continues to co-facilitate the clinical supervision, provides outreach support via email counselling, writes Blogs and assists in the education of new specialist bereavement counsellors undertaking post graduate diploma training.
On this website you will find details of the children and family bereavement counselling programs and education courses, previously facilitated through the BCC. You can also purchase books written by the McKissock’s from the website or call the Centre on 1300 654 556.
