ELIZABETH HILL (BETSY)

Children’s Counsellor

BA(Psych&En) (SU); DipEd (STC); MA (School Counsellor) (MQ), AdvClinBereaveCouns (Children) (NCCG); AHPRA, APS.

Betsy began her working life as a high school English, Special Education and Drama teacher. She volunteered as a Lifeline telephone counsellor and after ten years of teaching decided to pursue her passion for counselling and completed a Master of Arts (School Counselling). She became a Registered Psychologist in the early 1990s and has worked in both the government, and more recently, the independent school sector as a school counsellor, enjoying working with children in both primary and high school settings.

Her initial involvement at the NCCG was as a support worker in the children’s groups, and her love for the children and families here has led her to leave school counselling and focus on her role here as a children’s bereavement counsellor.

In her spare time Betsy enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to movies, theatre, gardening and trying to keep fit!
