WENDY GRANT

Adult and Children Counsellor

Qualifications: General and Midwifery Nursing (Mona Vale District Hospital / Mater Hospital Crow’s Nest), Post Graduate Dip Couns (ACAP), Masters in Couns (UWS), AdvClinBereaveCouns (Children/Adults) (NCCG).

As a School Counsellor I worked with many grieving families and my first contact with Di and Mal McKissock was my purchase of their book “Coping With Grief” many years ago at an annual Counsellors Conference and heard a presentation about bereavement grief and what the NCCG was, and the work it did.

I had a burning desire to know more about the Centre, and hoped to do one of their courses as soon as possible.  I started my journey at the NCCG being a Support Worker in one of the children’s groups and loved the philosophy and care the centre offered grieving families.  For a few years I continued working part time as a School Counsellor (my latter years working in Early Childhood) and part time as a Children’s  Counsellor at the NCCG.

I now feel privileged to be working with all ages at the NCCG as both an Adult and Children’s Counsellor.  I love being a part of our wonderful team of experienced and caring professionals.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my husband, family and friends.  As most of our family live out of Sydney, we have a busy time planning our visits to keep up with our adult children and 9 grandchildren.  We share a love for music, theatre, travel and our ‘rag doll’ cat, Bonnie.  I also enjoy reading, yoga, ballet, art galleries, cooking, and walking.
